Special Tour of Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation

Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation (BIR), a 92 bed freestanding rehabilitation facility, ranked 13th among the nation’s top rehabilitation facilities in the 2008 “America’s Best Hospitals” guide from the U.S. News and World Report, is offering a hospital tour on the evening of Wednesday, September 23rd. Participants will be given an overview of BIR services prior to arrival and then may choose to visit seven different focus areas in the hospital where they will hear a brief presentation on Nursing, Research and Peer Mentoring, Body Weight Support Treadmill Training, Animal Assistive Therapy, Assistive Technology, Rightway/Mobility/Adaptive Driving and learn about our Support Challenge and Inspire support group for persons with spinal cord injury and our End of the Year Summer Bash.

Transportation is provided. Shuttle buses will depart from the hotel at 5:00pm and return at approximately 6:30pm. The vans have seating for 53 passengers and 6 passengers in wheelchairs.
